Alek Skarlatos Breaks Nose During ‘DWTS’ Rehearsals, Will He Still Perform?

Alek Skarlatos may have broken his nose during Monday’s Dancing With the Stars rehearsals after his pro partner for the week, Emma Slater, accidentally hit him on the face with her elbow.

The  23-year-old Alek, was twirling 26-year-old Slater, 26-year when her elbow landed on his nose, causing his head to snap back as her jaw drops in shock. His nose may be broken, but that he is still awaiting X-ray results to confirm the damage.

The duo are set to perform the Rumba on Monday as part of Switch Up Week, which has the remaining contestants dancing with a new pro partner. Skarlatos’ regular partner is Lindsay Arnold.

He earned 24 out of 30 for his dance, which he said has kept him positive and focused. He is exceptionally proud of himself for going out and doing his absolute best during the performance.

Skarlatos was enrolled as a student at Umpqua Community College prior to his 2014 deployment to Afghanistan.

Skarlatos temporarily put aside his quest for the Season 21 Mirrorball Trophy on hold and raced home to Oregon on October 1 to help when a gunman shot and killed nine people at Umpqua Community College.

He dedicated his performance that week to the “whole community” of Roseburg, where the school is located.

Emma Louise Slater on the other hand, is an English professional dancer/choreographer. She was best known for her appearances in Dancing with the Stars.

Slater joined the fourteenth season of the American edition of Dancing with the Stars as a troupe dancer, where she danced and choreographed all of the opening dance numbers including the finale.

After three seasons of becoming a troupe member, she was announced as one of the new female professional dancers for the seventeenth season of the show in September 2.

Lindsay, his regular partner is an American professional ballroom dancer. She was a contestant in, So You Think You Can Dance and a professional dancer in Dancing with the Stars.
