Jim Carrey helped carry the casket of her late girlfriend Cathriona White during the funeral of the 30-year-old photographer at her hometown in Ireland on Saturday, Oct. 10.
International Design Times reported that the 53-year-old actor bid his final goodbye to his "delicate Irish flower." The devastated actor served as one of the pallbearers at the service and broke down as he walked with her family and friends to her final resting place.
Us Weekly shared that Jim was seen wearing a pair of gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and a black suit. He even hugged Cathriona's family when the coffin was lowered into the ground at her gravesite which is beside her father who died in 2012.
Cathriona was said to be a "small town girl with big dreams who was not afraid to follow them" during her funeral ceremony. "In 1985, Cathriona was baptized with joy into this Christian community. We assemble now in a very different atmosphere to welcome her home. We gather in silent, sad, grief-stricken fáilte," the priest told those who were in attendance. "At this time, we welcome home one of our own...The circumstances of our being here today cause us great sadness and remind us how vulnerable we are. We need God's blessing and the support of each other."
Cathriona was found dead of an apparent suicide on Sept. 28, when she was found with multiple suicide letters and pills by her side which were supposedly Jim's prescription pills. The pair had allegedly broken up just days before her death. To recall, Cathriona suffered from deep depression and allegedly tried to commit suicide once before.
The screenwriter landed in Cathriona's country on Friday morning, ahead of her wake in the evening at the funeral home, IDesignTimes reported. Meanwhile, the film producer shared a silhouette photo of him and the beautiful brunette in his Twitter page right after the interment, an act of tribute to his late wife. The photgraph showed the pair was gazing at each other and captioned it with: "Love cannot be lost" along with a flower emoji, which symbolized Cathriona.
