Demi Lovato on New Track 'Old Ways': 'I Was Engaging In Self-destructive Behaviors'

Just a few days before the release of her new album 'Confident', Demi Lovato has shared some video clips to promote it, where she has also openly talked about her personal connection to each track.

Besides teasing about the new album, adding that she's 'proud of the skin' she's in, the 23-year old 'Cool for the Summer' hit-maker also hinted about her new album track 'Old Ways', which she admits is in reference to her emotional and physical struggles she had worked out while being in rehab in 2010/

"The first thing I think about is going back to a time when I was engaging in self-destructive behaviors," the singer said as she calls out for her new single 'Old Ways'.

She added, "But it's also like, now being at an age where I'll go out to a club and I'll look around the room, and there's a bunch of people drinking partying, it looks glamorous."

As Lovato owned up to her mistakes from the past, she went on to say that she could "easily remember how dangerous that spiral is."

"When you're the type of person that lets it take over your life. When you look forward and you write a new chapter in your book, that's when the story really begins." she continued.

Demi Lovato is working on some projects on the row, which include the upcoming release of her new album 'Confident'. Prior to this, she has already completed one of her projects for the year after debuting her latest single 'Cool for the Summer', which is currently soaring high on the music charts.

"I thought it was an awesome representation of where I'm headed. I think for so many years, I cared too much about what people thought. Now I can just be who I am. I can be open," Lovato said in statement during one of her previous interviews.

The new album 'Confident' will be released on October 16, Friday.
