As "Captain America: Civil War," the next film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wrapped filming weeks back, it's time for the next films of the franchise to move forward, including the Benedict Cumberbatch-led "Doctor Strange" and later "Thor: Ragnarok" - which, it turns out, might see the return of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk.
The last time we saw Mark Ruffalo's Hulk was at the very end of this year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron," when Bruce Banner decided to escape after all the action to become a recluse and avoid hurting girlfriend Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and after it was revealed that the character wouldn't be part of the "Civil War" between Captain America and Iron Man, new rumors say he may come back for another film.
According to an exclusive story by JobLo, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk could be joining the MCU once again in the third "Thor" solo film, joining Chris Hemsworth in the title role, Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif and Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins reprising their respective roles - and yes, even Tom Hiddleston should be coming back as the love-him-and-hate-him Marvel villain Loki, last seen usurping the throne of Asgard disguised as Odin.
"Ruffalo is on board," said a source close to production regarding Mark Ruffalo's Hulk involvement in the Norse mythology threequel, according to Polygon. "As to how much time he'll spend as Hulk vs. Banner, we can't say, only that he's absolutely part of the supporting cast and will feature prominently."
The Mary Sue reports that the rumors that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk could be part of "Thor: Ragnarok" have fueled excitement in the comic book fans community, as the reports that the film will happen in a "distant planet" that's neither Earth nor Asgard could potentially mean an adaptation of popular Marvel Comics storyline "Planet Hulk," where the green angry Avenger is banished over how much destruction he's brought to Earth.
In any case, it'll be great seeing Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in any new films ahead of the "Avengers: Infinity Wars" movies!
