Obama: Trump will never be the President

And so, the country's most powerful man has spoken. President Barack Obama said that Donald Trump will never become U.S. President, calling the latter 'a classic reality TV character."

The International Business Times relates that the billionaire real estate mogul and television personality Donald Trump is currently the Republican presidential frontrunner. He has become the darling of some GOP voters as he once publicly questioned the president's citizenship and demanded to see the president's birth certificate. He has indeed aroused controversy with his bold and daring remarks on illegal immigration. He has pledged during his campaigns to build a wall on the U.S. Mexico border and to deport the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants already in the United States in a "very humane fashion," earning the ire of millions of people, not just in the United States but across the globe.

However, President Obama expressed his disfavour for the aspiring candidate in an interview broadcast last Sunday on "60 Minutes". "He's the classic reality TV character and at this early stage it's not surprising that he's gotten a lot of attention," Obama replied to CBS News' Steve Kroft when he was asked about Trump. Obama thinks that Trump is a great publicity-seeker and knows how to get noticed. "I think that he is a great publicity seeker at a time when the Republican Party hasn't really figured out what it's for as opposed to what it's against," Obama told Kroft.

Obama refused to speak out about whether he thinks Trump will run out of steam before winning the Republican nomination. Instead, he frankly related, "I don't think he'll end up being president of the United States."

Republican presidential candidate Trump, however, didn't respond straight to Obama's statements but he took to Twitter his counter strike later Sunday evening. He tweeted that everyone said that Obama was terrible and that he was definitely better on "60 Minutes" the previous week than the democratic president.

Yahoo News also reported that in the interview, Obama mentioned that he believe that he will definitely be re-elected as president if he's not constitutionally barred from a third term.
