Kanye West Goes on Twitter Rant against Mobile Apps W/ Micro Transactions

It looks like Kanye West isn't too happy with his daughter's mobile gaming habit. Over the weekend, the outspoken rapper and fashion designer went on a short twitter tirade where he lambasted game developers that riddle their titles with in-app purchases.

"F*ck any game company that puts in-app purchases on kids games!!!...That makes no sense!!!! We give the iPad to our child and every 5 minutes there's a new purchase!!!...If a game is made for a 2 year old, just allow them to have fun and give the parents a break for Christ sake." Said Kanye in a series of  weets.

West refused to call out the specific game that triggered his outburst, but it's pretty easy to sympathize with his plight. Many mobile game creators market their games as 'free-to-play' when in reality; much of the title's content is hidden behind paywalls and energy meters.

West's critics have denounced his complaint as a case of extreme hypocrisy - pointing to the fact that his wife's notoriously popular app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, made over $200 million from in-app purchases.

West is a noted fan of the video game medium. Back in February he told radio station Power 105.1 that he was working on a video game to accompany his song Only One.

"Right now I'm working on a video game for Only One, and the idea is that it's my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light," West said. "We've been working on it for like six months."
