In an epic eating challenge, one restaurant will give out part of its ownership to the successful challenger. However the challenge is not just to consume a massive amount of food in a limited time. The restaurant, Don Chingon is actually challenging you to consume 30 pounds of burrito that's filled with different types of meat and down it with a spicy concoction of Ghost Pepper. A fitting challenge for the prize at stake.
In an eating challenge set up, the prize is usually the meal itself or the prestige of finding your name on their hall of famers. However, as reported in The Daily Meal, Don Chingon will be giving out a part of the restaurant's ownership. The new Mexican restaurant opened in Park Slope, Brooklyn and initiated the challenge called "The Grand Chingon Challenge" to allow its market to claim part ownership of the restaurant.
Interested now to win join the challenge? This is how it works. The participants will need to pay a $150 entrance fee to join the challenge. If this is not challenging enough, the participants need to finish eating a 30 pound of burrito called the Gran Chingon which is more than three feet long and is filled with chicken, steak, chorizo, carnitas, cheese, rice, beans and salsa. To top this off, you have to drink a margarita made with the terrifyingly spicy Ghost Pepper.
The challengers are not allowed to leave for bathroom break or discharge any bodily fluid. That means challengers will be disqualified if they cry or suddenly develop a runny nose from drinking the Ghost Pepper. Imagine having that enormous amount of meat inside your belly plus the killer drink. This one's definitely a life or death challenge. At 20 pounds of burrito, a normal person usually gives up.
As a safety precaution done by the restaurant, Don Chingon releases any responsibility of death or illness upon entering the challenge. The participants will be signing a waiver of this kind upon joining. And in any case that you've conquered the challenge, the winner will claim 10 percent ownership in the restaurant, non-transferable upon death.
