The second season of the Netflix series 'Daredevil' is turning out to be one filled with several established characters, including Elektra Natchios. The femme fatale was originally played by Jennifer Garner in the film but she will now be portrayed by Elodie Yung in the Marvel TV show.
Although there have been several photos of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka the Punisher that have surfaced on the internet, there hasn't been a single glimpse of Elektra making its rounds in social media. That is, until now.
According to Variety, fans who attended the recent New York Comic Con were in for a treat when the 'Daredevil' Season Two teaser was unveiled during the show's panel. Although an HD copy of trailer is not yet available online, here is a copy that has been recorded using a cellphone.
In the meantime, here are some details included in the 'Daredevil' Season Two trailer.
"The footage cuts to quick shots of Matt in full Daredevil costume descending a stairwell; Foggy flanked by cops; new cast addition Elekra pulling a fabric mask across the lower half of her face; Karen looking at an x-ray of a skull that looks suspiciously like The Punisher's symbol; and Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, walking down a hospital corridor with a gun in hand as his voice ominously intones, 'Beg.'"
Elodie Yung admitted during NYCC that she is excited about playing Elektra, saying that the experience is "intense; exciting; I can't be more happy."
Jon Bernthal also confirmed that he will not let Punisher fans down. "I know how important this character is to you guys, and how important this show is to you guys," Bernthal said. "I look at this as a huge honor, a huge responsibility... I'm gonna give everything that I have."
The second season of 'Daredevil' will air on Netflix in 2016.
