"MasterChef" has crowned a new winner for season four.
The final decision came down to Natasha Crnjac and Luca Manfe. The finale pitted two highly-skilled and competitive chefs against each other to battle it out for $250,000, a cookbook and the title "The Best Home Cook in America".
Manfe became the first man to win the American version of the show.
Manfe is a 31-year-old Italian restaurant manager, and Crnjac is a 26-year-old stay at home mom and cook from San Diego. The two contestants were asked to cook a three-course meal for the Fox reality hit's judges Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich.
The win did not come easy. During negotiations Ramsay asked his fellow judges if they should just call it a draw. The final win went to the Itaitan native, whose family was flown frm itlay to watch the event live.
Manfe tried his luck in season three of the show, but was told by judges to go home and learn how to cook better. Manfe returned to season four and came close to elimination several times before winning the titled.
Manfe cooked seared duck livers, then short ribs and a basil panna cotta. Crnjac dishes included seared scalps, monkfish and a panna cottas.
According to E! News, chef Elliot said he was happy with the outcome of season four.
"The best Chef does win," Elliot said. "I don't think we've ever walked away and gone, 'Man I think so-and-so should've got it.' This is one where I think everyone at home is going to see it and go, 'Yes, this is right.'"
Elliot called Crnja "formidable" and highlighted Monfe's "passion and and heart and soul."
Fans of "MasterChef" won't have to wait long for the next batch of contestants. "MasterChef Junior" pits kids against one another and premieres Sept. 27 on FOX.
