After a career spanning over three decades, John Goodman's best known for his roles as Dan Conner in Roseanne Barr's iconic sitcom "Roseanne" and his portrayal of the world's favorite caveman Fred Flintstone in the 1994 version of "The Flintstones," and for years John Goodman's weight has been subject for concern - but his latest public appearance shows that he's notably slimmed down from his last public appearance earlier this year.
Keeping active for decades, John Goodman's weight has never been an impediment for his career, having worked on some incredible projects like being among the Coen brothers' favorite actors and co-starring in the Best Picture-winning film "The Artist," as well as his most recent film co-starring Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren and Alan Tudyk; and he was at the movie's premiere when his big physical change was noticed.
According to Today.com, John Goodman's weight has greatly dropped from past highs, after having struggled with slimming down for many years for his health; he showed his slimmer figure last Thursday during the London Film Festival premiere of "Trumbo."
USA Today reports that, after years of struggling with John Goodman's weight, the actor, who has also admitted to having a long-running drinking problem, has gone on a strict diet, entirely given up drinking and started to exercise!
"I'd get off of Roseanne every spring. I'd lose 60 pounds every spring [but] I'd gain it back and then some, every year," said the Golden Globe winner to David Letterman a few years back speaking about John Goodman's weight problems, according to The Independent. "It's going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life."
While the actor hasn't spoken at length about his weight loss, he admitted that at his heaviest he was close to 400 pounds.
