Lamar Odom Rehab: NBA Player Leaves After One Day

After reportedly checking himself into rehab Los Angeles Laker, Lamar Odom, is already out.

E! News reported that the 33-year-old basketball player checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center Wednesday, then left Thursday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Odom never checked into a rehab facility, despite numerous media reports indicating he had. The speculations came one week after the NBA player and reality star was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.

Odom was arrested Aug. 30 at 3:54 a.m. after being stopped in Los Angeles on U.S. Route 101 showing "objective signs of intoxications," according to California Highway Patrol. Odom was also unable to perform a field sobriety test, police said. He has not entered a plea and was released on $15,000 bond.

A court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27.

The past few weeks have been a tumultuous time by all accounts for Odom.

Odom, who is currently a free agent was reportedly staying at a hotel last week while friends were trying to get him help for a drug problem. TMZ also reported Odom was missing for 72 hours after a fight with his wife, Khloe Kardashian. That report was not true, Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz, said

Former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Jordan Farmar told ESPN earlier this week that a handful of former teammates have tried to help Odom, but have not had any response.

"It sucks to hear," Farmar said. "It's unfortunate. A couple of us have reached out to him and haven't heard back. That's just a sign of him going through some tough times."

Farmar posted a picture of him and Odom Thursday captioned, "My big homie LO! One of the most incredible human beings you'll ever meet! Nobody is immune to tough times. I love you dog and am always here if you need me! #tbt #family."

Odom played for the Los Angeles Clippers last season, averaging 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 82 games. He has spent 12 of his 14 seasons in Los Angeles and was suspended twice for drug violations while playing for the Clippers in 2001. He also admitted to marijuana use in 2003.
