Marvel News: MCU Phase 3 Plans Change With ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ + New Dates For ‘Black Panther’ And ‘Captain Marvel’!

In the latest Marvel news, it seems like the Phase 3 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe aren't quite as set in stone as one would think, as there's now officially a new film in the plans that brings a new superhero forward after a madly successful first venture: The Wasp.

Earlier this year, audiences fell in love with Paul Rudd's take on Scott Lang, who also doubled as superhero Ant-Man; however, he wasn't the only popular character from the show, as Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne, who begged to become the superhero throughout the film, was also making everyone crazy - and the latest and awesome Marvel news shows she's getting her deserved spotlight!

As Cinema Blend reports, the latest Marvel news will have fans of the summer film excited: there's now officially a sequel for the film and it won't have Scott fighting solo in the bug department, but rather joint by Hope, who in the mid-credits scene was revealed to be about to follow her mother's footsteps to become The Wasp.

The sequel to this summer's blockbuster will appropriately be called "Ant-Man and The Wasp" and it will be released as part of Phase 3, on July 6, 2018, which in turn means more Marvel news: because of the new release date, "Black Panther" has been pushed to an earlier date, February 16, 2018, while the first female-led MCU film, "Captain Marvel," has been delayed until March 8, 2019.

According to io9, the latest Marvel news comes from a statement on the company's website, and there are three new date announcements for more films after "Avengers: Infinity Wars," with three new movies coming on 2020, though the theme is still unknown and it's unclear whether they will belong to Phase 3 or Phase 4 - could one of these be the rumored "Iron Man 4"?

In any case, the ultimate Marvel news is this: there are plenty more MCU superheroes planned out!
