Paris Fashion Week: "Brienne of Tarth" from Game of Thrones Becomes the Center Piece On a Fashion Runway

Gwendolie Christie, or popularly known as "Brienne of Tarth" in the famous series Game of Thrones, plays model to fashion shows on occasions she isn't filming for the renowned TV series. Last Tuesday, she became the centrepiece during Iris van Herpen's Spring 2016 Fashion Show in Paris.

Lying flat on a plinth, Christie remained motionless even as the three sculptures that surround her began to move. The three sculptures seem to weave the soft fishnet-like dress that spread out in circle around the actress. Van Herpen's latest collection shows her different approach to her work; collaborating with scientists, artists, biologists and now performers.

As reported by Mashable, the fierce actress seemed to be asleep on the catwalk at the Dutch's runway during Paris Fashion Week. Using fashion and technology, the designer wove a fabric onto Christie and three surrounding sculptures using 3D-printing and laser cutting.

Van Herpen is no rookie to fashion innovation. The Dutch designer is already known for using progressive techniques and creative materials each season. This latest collection called Quaquaversal that means going in all directions, made use of 3D printing and laser cutting technology. Some of the outfits looks as if they were from weightless silvery material as Vogue reports.

In an interview with Dazed, Christie describes Van Herpen's work. "[Her] work reveals the secret structures of our existence, giving us a multidimensional experience of what it is to be alive. It is an investigation into the past, present and future in all its primal and mythological forms."

Christie's appearance in this week's fashion show is not her first apparently. Christies has been known to dabble fashion industry and Paris Fashion Week in particular. She was also seen last February walking in Vivienne Westwood's Fall 2015 runway show. She also appeared in the designer's Winter 2015/2016 campaign.

This lady isn't so masculine as what her character Brienne in Game of Thrones portrays. What do you think? Do you like her masculine or this female fatale that walks down the runway during Paris Fashion Week? Share us your thoughts below.
