The singer who was first featured on the children's series Barney & Friends in the early 2000s - Selena Gomez, just dropped a bombshell during an interview, the singer broke her silence on her lupus diagnosis issue, and also revealed that she's been holding a bigger secret, the Texas born and raised singer went through chemotherapy.
Selena Gomez stated that those were the reasons for her time spent out of the spotlight, which started a flurry of speculations as to what was keeping the singer away. "I was diagnosed with lupus (a chronic inflammatory disease that is being caused by auto-immunity), and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke," "I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy. You're assh****.' I locked myself away until I was confident and free from stress again."
However, the singer, actress and fashion designer Gomez, is now back and better than ever, with her highly anticipated album Revival that will be out in the music stores in just a few days. The breakout single of Selena Gomez "Good For You" and her recent track "Same Old Love," with no delay, drew fans and suggested that Selena Gomez is venturing into a new kind of music.
The 23-year-old singer explained that music is her outlet for frustrations and anger, "I'm so f--king nice to everybody, and everyone is extremely unpleasant to me. I've been working since I was 7 years old. I've been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It's so disappointing that I've become a tabloid story." But, Selena Gomez credits her critics as a driving force for her upcoming album, "The hate motivated me."
Selena Gomez made it clear that her recent music has nothing to do with her famous ex boyfriend - Justin Bieber. Selena Gomez said "No. This is my time. I've deserved this. I earned it. This is all me."
