Tom Hanks Twitter: Nice Guy ‘Forrest Gump’ Found Lauren’s Fordham University ID, So He Began Sweet Campaign So She’d Find It!

After having been in show business for three decades and having two Academy Awards and multiple other nominations to his name, you'd think the "Da Vinci Code" actor would be a very cocky guy with so many great accomplishments, but Tom Hanks' Twitter shows that he's as nice a guy as you can find - and he'll even help people retrieve lost IDs!

Taking some of the sweetness of his most famous character, "Forrest Gump," Tom Hanks' Twitter recently saw the 59 year-old actor go on a quest to find the owner of a Fordham University ID card belonging to a student named Lauren.

As The Huffington Post reports, Tom Hanks' Twitter saw the actor recounting that, during a recent walk a the park in New York City, he found the ID card, so he showed the picture on it to his 10.4 million followers to see if he could contact the owner or anyone who knew her.

How sweet is that?

"Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx," wrote the actor on Tom Hanks' Twitter, showing the picture and the girl's first name, although maintaining her privacy by not sharing her surname.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hanks' Twitter request had a happy ending, too, as two people who know Lauren actually responded: a friend going by the Twitter handle @hannahanders1 and one of Fordham's professors, whose Twitter name is @Unchained_Mason.

ABC News reports that this isn't the first time the "Saving Private Ryan" star is part of a sweet exchange like this, as back in March, he told his followers that a man named Tony had found his credit card and had actually returned it, even though it belonged to someone worth millions of dollars.

These days it seems like Tom Hanks' Twitter is all about paying it forward!
