'M. Night Shyamalan' Net Worth: How Much is the Director Worth? Plus New Film Starring X-Men's 'James McAvoy'

M. Night Shyamalan is back on the headlines after his most recent film, The Visit which bought $53 million into the box office. As per the Variety, Shyamalan is in the works for his new film, which would star James McAvoy after Joaquin Phoenix turned down the deal.

Shyamalan will be directing, while Jason Blum is set to produce. As per the website, the upcoming film is more likely to involve supernatural elements similar with his previous work; though it was stated that the budget might be small, considering Blum's involvement.

Deadline then stated that the new project is set to shoot before November this year. Marc Bienstock will aslo produce the film and Ashwin Rahan and Steven Schneider will participate as executive producers.

The American Indian screen writer and director is worth approximately $50 million. As per The Richest website, the director gained most of his wealth through his super natural thriller films. He is most famous for his plot twists and horrifying thrillers. One of his first successful horror film starred Bruce Willis, The Sixth Sense which became an instant hit and became a classic.

His film entitled Signs which starred Bruce Willis earned over $400 million worldwide back in 2002. After signs, he then made movies which are similar to the previous films. The Village and The Happening. One of his films, the Last Airbender however disappointed some fans as he was not able to fully capture the essence of the film.

One of his latest successes which premiered in September 11 was "The Visit." The story revolved around 2 siblings that went on an adventure to visit their grandparents which they will be seeing for the first time.  Becca, the older sibling decided to do a documentary of their visit for her mom to help her reconnect with both her parents. While doing so, however her younger brother Tyler discovered their dark hidden family secrets.
