Toronto Burger Vender Shuts Down after 12 People Suffered From Gastrointestinal Symptoms

Twelve people suffered from gastrointestinal symptoms after eating the knock-off cronut burger at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, according to the New York Daily News.

Officials said the cronut burger may be to blame after a dozen people became ill Tuesday night. The cronut burger collaboration comes from Toronto's Le Dolci and Epic Burgers and Waffles and is made with a burger patty, maple bacon and processed cheese between a cronut bun, according to the Daily News.

"The one thing that they all seem to have in common, was that they had eaten the cronut burger," hospital staff told Newstalk 1010.

According to the Daily News, the Canadian National Exhibition is known for dishing out unconventional food options like Nutella fries and bacon and peanut butter milkshakes, attendees are pointing fingers at the cronut burger.

Although there is not confirmation on whether the eatery is the source of the illness, the Canadian National Exhibition stated on their website that an team of experts are onsite a the Canadian National Exhibition investigating the situation.

Meanwhile, people who took a chance on the eatery took to Twitter to give their opinion on the latest ordeal.
