Macgyver Gets a Reboot Via CBS

People in the 80's once loved this one guy on TV who was known to being the very resourceful version of James Bond. He didn't need any high tech gadgets, and in just a matter of time, he was able to come up with solutions that would always make him get out of trouble. We're talking about the 80's hit TV show, Macgyver and for those who loved it, the great news is that it is being revived by the network CBS. Quartz published this great news for those who have missed this action series.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Reporter gave further details saying that the remake will not only be on CBS. It will also tell the story about the character's early life, like when he was around his 20s and was recruited by some syndicate. A director was already called for the job and it is none other than James Wan (Fast and Furious 7). Wan will be managing the show's pilot episode.

The director is already looking forward to working on this project since he had been a fan of the 80s show for the longest time. He was even asked to work on it back in 2012 when it was first conceptualized to be made as a movie. But he got distracted working on Fast and Furious 7 instead. Although the series is now confirmed, New Line Cinema is still not ruling out for it to be released as a film.

Macgyver was huge back in those days that his popularity rose to becoming a verb. We have a feeling that the same thing could happen as soon as it returns to TV screens. As for the cast and other characters, the network has not released any statement about this yet.
