New Marvel Comics' 'Damage Control' To Be Adapted As A Comedy Series On ABC

Another great story from Marvel Comics is soon to be seen on TV and this time, the company decided to make a comedy series. One of Marvel Television's newest releases 'Damage Control' is to be scheduled as a pilot comedy series under ABC network.

Deadline reported that this is going to be a single-camera comedy project that will be created for the small screen by Ben Karlin, the former producer for the Daily Show and Colbert Report. The story is about an overworked and underpaid clean up crew of the Marvel Universe. These new superheroes' jobs are more about dealing with the aftermath of what the other superheroes have left. This means they are the ones responsible for bringing back ray guns to their real owners; they also reschedule wedding venues that were ruined after a fight involving a Marvel superhero. They are the ones who are working behind the scenes.

The concept was first introduced back in 1988 and the storyline was first published the year after. The geniuses behind this concept were Dwayne McDuffie and Ernie Colon. As a TV adaptation, Karlin will be the one responsible penning it. He will executive produce it with David Miner and Jeph Loeb. A lot of writers in this company have shown interest in working with this project but Marvel has always been very picky about it.

The Hollywood Reporter said that ABC has already sent out an order for the script to be done for the creation of Damage Control. Their partnership with Marvel Television is growing since they also have Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter currently going on as well.

The same enthusiasm was also reported by TV Line for fans of Marvel Comics. Stay tuned as we update everyone with regards to casting and season premiere spoilers.
