Vicki Gunvalson, the American reality television personality, treated herself to what she called a “detox retreat” getaway over this weekend amid the growing controversy over her ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers.
The 53-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star took to her Instagram to document her luxurious and much needed spa weekend at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, California.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, Gunvalson shared a photo of herself and three friends including designer Marisa Kenson on the first night of her 'retreat'.
“The start of our detox retreat at @bacararesortsb with @skyranchfitness and @clubdetox_oc. Yoga, meditation, hiking, massage and healthy eating is what’s in store for me this weekend,” she captioned the photo, showing her happy self in a black evening dress.
Later that afternoon, Ayers’ ex shared a photo of her holding a Club Detox green juice and wearing a Club Detox T-shirt.
“I love detoxing and spending this weekend with people that inspire me and believe in me,” she wrote. “Thank you ladies for allowing me a stress free day. #clubdetoxoc #juicing #cleansingyourmindandbody.”
Gunvalson has been at the center of drama among her fellow housewives over her ex-boyfriend Brooks. Meghan King Edmonds has been trying to disprove Ayers' claim that he had suffered. Vicki and Brooks, who met in 2011 through Vicki's insurance business, had their split televised in August 2013 during the reality show's reunion special.
Brooks was confronted by Vicki's adult daughter Briana Wolfsmith Culberson during the show for bragging about the size of his manhood.
The televised breakup came after shocking audio tapes were released with the businessman slurring about his plans to 'f**king beat Vicki's a**' the next time he sees her, while also calling her a 'f***ing whore.'
Brooks later issued an apology for his abusive comments. The pair had a rocky relationship with Brooks enduring rumours that he was unfaithful to Vicki.
