Ed Sheeran Guest Stars In "The Bastard Executioner"

Well, who would've thought that the artist who made the hit song "Thinking Out Loud" would be on a TV series that resembles HBO's Game of Thrones? That's right, because the British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran actually landed a gig in a recurring role for FX network's "The Bastard Executioner."

Sheeran just landed a gig doing a guest appearance on the show's recent episode called, "Blood-Soaked Medieval Epic." A lot of people who have seen the show recognize its resemblance to Game of Thrones, which Sheeran happens to be a huge fan of. According to Metro, the singer has been even bold about professing his interest about being a part of Game of Thrones. But it is looking like he couldn't wait any longer for their offer.

This could also be his way of getting the attention of Game of Thrones' casting directors. In "The Bastard Executioner," Sheeran's role is actually recurring as he plays the character of Sir Cormac, an assistant to a powerful priest. The scenes that he was in were pretty morbid because one would see an execution being ordered and the torture of a prisoner whose eyes were taken out using a knife.

The Bastard Executioner iwas created by the same man who runs Sons of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter. As for his acting, it is looking like the singer just might have a future in this other side of show business.

Music Time said that this isn't the first time Sheeran has worked with Sutter because he had a song recorded for Sons of Anarchy and it was called 'Make It Rain,' a cover version of Foy Vance.

The singer has been extremely busy doing a lot of guest appearances on TV shows like Sesame Street and Neighbours. He even had to say no to Game of Thrones cameo because of his schedule according to NME.
