It looks like that 'Game of Thrones' movie will not be happening anytime soon.
It was recently reported that 'A Song of Ice and Fire' author George R.R. Martin has decided not to be involved in a rumored 'Game of Thrones' movie because he would be working on 'The Winds of Winter,' the sixth novel in his book series.
George R.R. Martin recently took some time to dispel all rumors through his LiveJournal, where he was initially posting about a delay in a mural installation. A fan asked in the comment section, "Is the interview of you, saying that there is a movie on work about ROBERT'S REBELLION false?"
The 'Winds of Winter' author was quick to respond.
"Yes, completely false. No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert's Rebellion," Martin wrote.
He then added, "And this comment is also off topic."
The interview was reported by the Daily Star, where George R.R. Martin allegedly spoke about the 'Game of Thrones' movie.
"There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and that DB [Weiss] and David [Benioff] are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do," Martin had allegedly said.
Daily Star also printed that George R.R. Martin addressed his slow pace in writing and that he didn't want to delay the release of 'The Winds of Winter' any further.
"The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don't write faster," Martin was allegedly quoted as saying.
The website also printed information from a source who confirmed that the 'Game of Thrones' movie will revisit a time in the past and mentioned that dead characters will be brought back.
