Lindsay Lohan Rehab: Actress Leaves Malibu Center, But Ordered To 18 Months of Further Treatment

Lindsay Lohan maybe out of rehab, but the actress must continue with mandatory treatment.

The Cliffside Malibu Treatment Center has written a letter to a judge stating the actress should continue her therapy sessions in order to ensure success with the program.

"We feel that it is critical that Ms. Lohan have court ordered therapy, specifically three fifty-minute sessions a week for the next eighteen months." the letter said, according to E! News. "This should be done face to face while she is in town, and via skpe or phone sessions [if] she is out of town."

The 27-year-old actress completed her three-month rehab stint on Tuesday. Lohan, who started her treatment at the Betty Ford Center and later transferred to the Cliffside, is scheduled for another court apperance in November 2014.

"Our entire clinical team is unanimous agreement that if these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a setup for almost certain failure," Cliffside Chief Exec, Richard Taite, wrote in a letter, according to ABC News.

The letter goes on to praise Lohan for her willing participation.

"We couldn't be happier with the progress Ms. Lohan has made in building a solid foundation from which to continue the excellent work she has begun here."

Before reporting to Cliffside, Lohan who also completed 30 days of community service and paid a fine as part of her plea deal, called her treatment "a blessing."

"I think this [is] an opportunity for me, you know, focus on what I love in life," she told David Lettermen. "I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it's a blessing... and not a curse."

The actress's latest film, "The Canyons," will have a limited theatrical release in New York and Los Angles in August. Lohan signed a deal with the OWN network to appear in an eight-part series based on her life and will be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in August. According to the Los Angeles Times, the interview will come with a $2 million paycheck.
