There is going to be a lot of heavy drama scenes on the upcoming 7th season of "The Vampire Diaries." Since the death of Elena (played by Nina Dobrev) on the show last season 6, Damon (played by Ian Somerhalder) is going to be a mess. Heartbreak would probably be an understatement of what he will be going through this new season according to IB Times.
Season 6 brought in a lot of action and shocking moments since Kai (played by Chris Wood) casted a spell on Elena that lead to her demise and since then, Damon won't just seem to get over what happened right in front of his eyes.
He may be depressed from what happened, but the teaser poster of the show's new season is suggesting of some battle that he will be in to get over such tragic loss. The picture showed Damon along with Stefan (played by Paul Wesley) his brother trying to leave Mystic Falls with a caption that says, "Heartbreak is eternal."
Based on that caption alone, it will be so easy to assume that the pain and heartache that Damon has to go through is looking like it is going to take a while. The showrunner, Julie Plec told PopSugar a couple of months ago that Damon would be seen drinking a lot going to Europe just so he can move on. The audience will see a lot of Damon's bad side this season.
The producer also revealed to THR that the fundamental romance has hit a huge roadblock ever in a form of a six to seven-decade coma. She continued with, "But there's something beautiful in the poetry of that." This is going to be an exciting season for both the actors and the fans. It is looking unpredictable that's why the tension can be already felt as early as now.
