Who Should Be The Next Captain America? Sebastian Stan And Anthony Mackie Talk About Possibilities Of The Winter Soldier Or Falcon Taking Over After 'Civil War'

People still can't get enough of 'Captain America: Civil War' and several theories about the film continue to pop up on the internet.

One of the longest-standing theories about the film is the demise of Captain America (Chris Evans), who will be replaced by Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Although this actually happens in Marvel's 'Civil War' comic series, there are also theories that it will be Falcon (Anthony Mackie) who will be taking over as Captain America.

But what do the stars themselves have to say about replacing Captain America? Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan recently attended the Salt Lake Comic Con, where they were separately asked who would make a better Captain America, Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson?

Anthony Mackie isn't interested in taking over for Steve Rogers.

"I don't think we need a new Cap," he said. "I don't think Cap needs to change. I think [Sebastian Stan] would be a great Cap, but then we're left without Bucky. I think I'd be a great Cap, but then we're left without a Falcon."

On the other hand, Sebastian Stan had no problem answering the question right away.

"Myself!" Stan responded, which was met by audience laughter. "Having Anthony Mackie become Captain America would be like Biff in 'Back to the Future II.'"

Sebastian Stan is no stranger to the 'Bucky Barnes As Captain America' question.

"They sure like to dangle a cheese in front of my nose a lot," he said. "They're like 'Oh yeah, that's where you pick up the shield,' and I'm like, 'Yeah, I've heard that one before. There it is again.'"

The star of 'The Martian' may be getting a little more hopeful on the possibility of getting a larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Earlier this month, Sebastian Stan said that the Winter Soldier's fate depends on what the studio wants.

"It's so not up to me, and to be honest I really enjoy my job over there," Stan said. "I'm really happy going to work and doing what I do. I love the character that I have. It's up to a lot of different things, and whatever Marvel decides, I'm game."

'Captain America: Civil War' will premiere on May 6, 2016.
