Kim Zolciak-Biermann, the outspoken "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star, suffered a frightening health event that left her silent on Wednesday.
After flying home to Atlanta from an appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles, Zolciak-Biermann says, she was attacked by a "mini-stroke" within minutes of her arrival.
According to her Instagram post, she felt something was wrong when the left side of her body went numb and she lost the capability to speak.
The reality star, 37, shared a photo of her in a hospital bed wearing a gown and monitoring devices but says she's doing better.
"I have 100%of my feeling back THANK GOD," she said in the post.
The "Tardy for the Party" singer thanked her husband, NFL player Kroy Biermann, among others, for reacting quickly and helping her during the unexpected event. She closed out her message with #CrazyAgeDoesntMatter.
Tony Dovolani, 42, Kim's Dancing With The Stars partner, has been by her side as she continues to recover in the hospital after suffering a stroke on Sept. 22. He's sweetly been bringing her coffee and keeping the mood light by dancing around the room. Will Kim be heading back to the ballroom soon?!
"This guy @tonydovolani has been by my side for 2 days!" Kim captioned an Instagram photo on Sept. 24. "He even brings me my favorite coffee. Although he is always dancing around the room lol he keeps me smiling! So blessed to be surrounded by such great people. Want to go home so bad! Hopefully tomorrow! #GoingStirCrazy#BlessingInDisguse."
Mini strokes occur when blood flow to the brain stops for a short period of time; the symptoms usually last less than 24 hours. Kim revealed on Monday's DWTS that she had gotten Botox hours before her routine. Experts say that flying shortly after getting Botox shouldn't be a problem, but patients are cautioned to wait 24 to 48 hours before they take to the air.
Zolciak-Biermann was set to be released from the hospital Thursday
