'John Wick 2' Confirmed: 'Keanu Reeves' To Reprise His Role; Movie Starts Filming This Fall

When the movie John Wick came out of the cinemas it was such a huge success, everyone was buzzing about how good the action flick was. Now, in recent news, it was revealed that there will be a second John Wick movie and Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) will come back as John Wick. The filming for the second film will be this fall. Excited?

Thunder Road today confirmed the second John Wick film as part of the announcement of their upcoming Outlaws Inc. film. Reprising the title role along with directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad is Keanu Reeves. The movie will be released through Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment and is produced by Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk, who was also the one to produce the first film.

"With such tremendous fan and critical support for 'John Wick,' we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell," Lionsgate's President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions said earlier this year. Jason Constantine and Eda Kowan at Lionsgate will oversee John Wick 2 on behalf of Lionsgate. The first film was produced on a menial $20 million budget, but the movie John Wick upon release, earned more than $78 million at the worldwide box office and also became a hit in the home video market.

The upcoming second John Wick film is not only Keanu's project this year. Deadline reported last week that Reeves was reported to star in movie, Rally Car. The movie is said to feature Reeves as an American race car driver who is is China. Fundamental Films is behind the film, and Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Carribean) will produce Rally Car. A director has not been named yet.
