Hardee's is under fire after one of their employee in their South Carolina chain tested positive for the virus, Hepatitis A. The disease is highly infectious and can be passed from one person to another through food and liquid consumption. There are two chains in South Carolina being questioned; both are located in Spartanburg County.
The said restaurants are located at 12209 Greenville Highway in Lyman and 1397 E. Main St. in Duncan. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today announced it has provided 4,295 vaccinations through its hepatitis A vaccine clinics in both Spartanburg and Greenville. The DHEC plans to give vaccines post-exposure from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., through September 29, 2015.
DHEC also announced that all the staff and costumers who ate at the Lyman-area restaurant between Sept. 9 and Sept. 15, 2015, or the Duncan-area restaurant between Sept. 9 and Sept. 13, 2015, should receive post-exposure vaccines for hepatitis A. while DHEC says that anyone who ate in the restaurant before the said dates are not to be given any treatment, but still were pushed to watch if any symptoms may arise.
The symptoms Hepatitis A infected person may have are the following: nausea, vomiting, and jaundice, which is the yellowing of the eyes and skin. The DHEC urges anyone who has the said symptoms to seek medical care immediately.

No one knows how the public will welcome their new menu after this highly publicized debauchery of one of their employees.
