Cody Monteith died on Saturday.
The 31-year-old actor was found dead and alone in his room at the Fairmont Pacific hotel, after he missed his noon check out time. A hotel worker went to Monteith room after several calls went unanswered.
"We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate," a rep for Monteith said. "We are shocked and mourning this tragic loss."
According to Acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug Lapard, there was no indications of foul play and the police department will not be discussing what was found in the room. The cause of death was not immediately apparent.
Vancouver police department reported that a video showed Monteith returning to his hotel room by himself in early morning hours. During a press conference, Lapard said the family has been informed of Montieth's death and no further information would be given out of respect for the family. Lapard also cleared rumors that real-life girlfriend and actress Lea Michele was in the room. The actress was in Mexico, according to E! news.
The "Glee" actor's body was found several hours after he dead.
A statement was also sent out on behave of Glee executive producers 20th century Fox television and Fox broadcasting company.
"We're are deeply saddened by this tragic news," the statement said. "Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. According to Lapard this will determine the next steps in the case.
