Tom Hanks Plays Walt Disney in New Movie About 'Mary Poppins' (TRAILER)

Tom Hanks is playing Walt Disney in the new film "Saving Mr. Banks."

The 47-year old Oscar winner stars in the film about the making of the Disney classic movie "Marry Poppins.

Disney released it's first trailer for the film.

Hanks dons Disney's trademark pencil thin mustache and dark grey suit to bring the role to life. Hank plays opposite Emma Thomspon, who is playing author P.L. Travers. Travers published a series of children's books about English nanny Mary Poppins.

The film also stars Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak as Richard and Robert Sherman. The two produced the songs to the iconic film.

"Mary Poppins" was released in 1964. The musical features live acting and animated scenes. The movie is also packed with many memorable tunes, including "A spoonful of Sugar" and "Lets Fly a Kite."

According to reports, "Mary Poppins" became one of the Disney's studios most beloved films. The film starred Julie Andrews, as the magical nanny and Dick Van, as a one man band who befriends Poppins and the children under her changes.

"Mary Poppins," was Andrews acting debut.

According to the Daily Mail, Disney has spent 14 years trying to persuade Travers to all him to make a film out of the children's story.

"Saving Mr. Banks is scheduled to be released in December 2013.
