Michelle Rounds, the soon to be ex-wife of Rosie O’Donnell, reportedly tried to take her own life. After two years together, Rosie and Michelle are going through a nasty divorce. It might have been too much for Michelle as she allegedly tried to kill herself, just weeks after Rosie was reportedly seeing Tatum O’Neal.
The 53-year-ol The View host is reported to have been her savior after keeping her on the telephone long enough for medics and police to get to her.
TMZ reported that O'Donnell had tried to talk Rounds out of her plan and when she realized that she was going through with it, Rosie had someone else make a 911 call while she stayed on the phone with her former wife.
Members of the Clarkstown Police Department had to break down the door to Michelle’s room, according to earlier reports. Either way, Michelle was rushed to the nearby Nyack Hospital and was reportedly okay.
Michelle’s alleged suicide attempt came months after Rosie filed for divorce from her. Rosie has supposedly moved on, reportedly starting up a brand new romance with Tatum O’Neal. She and Tatum were even allegedly spotted enjoying a getaway together in West Palm Beach.
The chaos may have led to the “cry for help,” the insider tells Radar Online.
“Michelle was very depressed lately over the divorce and custody battle with Rosie,” the insider reveals. “In fact, in the past few days her and Rosie spoke and they had a bitter argument.”
Despite the bitter feelings between them, Rosie was reportedly at Michelle’s side in the hospital. Rosie then reportedly drove her estranged wife to their Hudson River home. Rosie is supposedly helping Michelle as she can, even allegedly letting her wife see their daughter as much as possible.
Rounds and O'Donnell separated last November a little over two years after being married, with the talk show host filing for divorce in February this year.
The pair's whirlwind romance started in the summer of 2011, they were engaged in December 2011 and married in June 2012 in a private ceremony after Rounds tried to get pregnant and Rosie suffered a heart attack.
In January 2013 they announced they had adopted a baby girl following Rounds' battle with desmoid tumors.
