Breaking up is hard to do! But it seems like Ariana Grande didn't have a hard time moving on from her ex, rapper Big Sean.
The 22-year-old revealed in her interview with V magazine that she didn't quite experienced difficulties in doing her new projects in spite of her breakup last April. She explains that she had no problems shooting the TV series the Scream Queen on top of her new album because she was over the split when these new opportunities came.
"You know, people found out quite a while after it actually happened. By the time I was writing the new album, I had kind of moved on," she says. "It's not going to be captured on the album too much. I'm in a happy place. There aren't any breakup anthems because I had moved on. I was like, alright. Well, f*ck it."
"I'm good at making the best out of something," Ari continues talking about her life after the high-profile breakup with the rapper. "It also wasn't that hard for me, because we were friends. So it's chill."
Seems like Ariana is really moving on with the past because there have been reports that she is now dating her backup dancer, Ricky Alvarez. She also admits that in her new album, she has not written any breakup song in it.
"I think that's part of the reason I didn't want to make a pissed-off break-up song. I was not focused on that. Everything is nice and great right now...why would I write about some bullsh*t? I'd rather write about some really lovely things that are going on."
When asked about her advice about a getting over a breakup, she candidly says that she has no breakup advice. "I'm not going to pretend I have great breakup advice. It's hard. Good luck. You'll be fine. You don't need anyone. It's nice to have someone that makes you happy, but it's nice to be happy on your own as well. You don't need to depend on another person for your happiness."
Way to go Ari girl!
