Snickers Unveils New Wrappers - Are They Taking Inspiration from Coke? [PHOTOS + VIDEOS]

Snickers once said, "If you're not you when you're hungry, who are you?!"

Now the beloved chocolate candy bar is taking a step further into that domain with their new wrappers, now called "Hunger Bars" - with 21 new labels, each describing how people may react when hungry.

"We're always looking for new ways to engage our fans, who know and love our campaign," said Snickers brand director Allison Miazga-Bedrick.

She continued, "We believe the new bars will inspire people to not only quickly identify their own symptoms and satisfy their hunger, but give them a new, fun way to call-out friends and family on who they become when they're hungry, too."

The Hunger Bars even come with a new ad, called "Dial-A-Snickers," where people call a hotline and describe a hungry friend who is eventually delivered with a Snickers bar with the descriptive label that perfectly encapsulates them.

According to the PR Newswire:

"Singles-sized SNICKERS® bars will feature the following symptoms, printed on the wrapper: Cranky, Rebellious, Fiesty, Sleepy, Loopy, Goofball, Grouchy, Forgetful, Confused, Irritable, Drama Mama, Impatient, Complainer, Dramatic, Princess, Spacey, Whiny, Curmudgeon, Ornery, Testy, and Snippy. A percentage of bars will remain in the original packaging."

Although many are loving the new campaign, we can't help but feel like Snickers took a cue from Coca-Cola's "Share A Coke" campaign.

Coke designed numerous bottles and cans, personalized with names or terms of endearment for friends and family to send it to a loved one - and the campaign was a huge success, resulting in a boost of sales for the brand.

While the full marketing campaign rolls out this month, fans can expect to see a new promotion gimmick from the Snickers brand. It'll be on mobile-image recognition platform Blippar, and allows fans to create their own customized Hunger Bars.

As expected, the customized Hunger Bars can also be shared on social media, in addition to having access to "additional branded content."
