'Game Of Thrones' Is Ready To Film The Tower Of Joy! Who Will Play Ser Arthur Dayne? [SPOILERS]

'Game of Thrones' is finally getting ready to start filming at the Castillo de Zafra in Spain, and fans are understandably excited over the possibility that the idyllic location will soon be the spot that reveals one of the show's greatest mysteries!

It was confirmed in July that Castillo de Zafra was one of the locations chosen to be featured in the sixth season of 'Game of Thrones,' and fans immediately started speculating that the beautiful 12th century castle could be the 'Tower of Joy.'

But why is the Tower of Joy so important in 'Game of Thrones?' What secret could it possibly hold?

[SPOILERS AFTER THE IMAGE]

In George R.R. Martin's book series 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' the Tower of Joy was the place where Rhaegar Targaryen allegedly took Lyanna Stark after he kidnapped her. The location became a stand-off point for Ned Stark, Howland Reed and several Kingsguard including the legendary Ser Arthur Dayne.

Although Ned and Howland successfully fended off the Kingsguard, they were unable to save Lyanna Stark, who died in a pool of blood.

The events that occurred in the Tower of Joy were never properly explained in the books, and the only survivor who would know the truth is Howland Reed, father of Meera and Jojen Reed.

The possibility that Castillo de Zafra could stand as the Tower of Joy in 'Game of Thrones' Season Six opens up the possibility that the truth will finally be revealed in a flashback showing just what happened to Lyanna Stark before she died.

Fans are also quick to point out that a casting call asking for a Legendary Fighter could mean that 'Game of Thrones' is looking for someone to portray Ser Arthur Dayne in the sixth season.

Although the casting call could easily be for a character that has not yet been mentioned in the books, fans believe that it could be Arthur Dayne because the character will be carrying "a hugely famous sword on his back." In 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' Ser Arthur Dayne has a sword named Dawn.
