Dropbox couldn't get better, the file sharing app is one of the biggest app used by phone and computer users alike. The file sharing company has made it easier for many to share and access their files on the go, it has revolutionized file sharing. Now, they have come up with another ingenious way to make life a little bit easier. They created a "Team" option, wherein both Basic and Pro users can use.
So how does it work? The team option will appear on the left-hand menu of the Web interface. Once you click this team button, one can create a folder wherein several chosen users can access it, and down the line if another person is added they will have access to past files as well. Furthermore, the option allows you to subdivide your team into different project.
Here's another catch, there's an option where you can link your personal and work Dropbox accounts, making it easier to navigate and switch from one to the other without the need to sign out. Dropbox created this team option to cater to small businesses that did not avail their service, Dropbox for Business, which is being used by over 100,000 companies. The new option is aims to offer more advance features such as more administrative security controls, like a two-facto authentication.
"We do expect that a lot of these small teams who start using the team functionality will, over a period of time, graduate to having those kinds of needs and start using Dropbox for Business," Dropbox's Pranav Piyush, a product manager, told Mashable. It will be a natural progression for the small companies, he added. This feature may change the history of Dropbox, although already well known to be a user friendly file sharing, this new option they added might be pivotal for their rise in the tech world. The company itself is up against mega corporations like Google's Google Drive, which has over a million paying subscribers.
