As the upcoming hiatus of One Direction comes near, it seems like the band is trying to make it up to their fans by giving away a few treats.
Following earlier reports that 29-year old singer Bruno Mars might be heading to the Super Bowl halftime extravaganza for the second time, the fans have been asking who would join Mars on the big event, according to reports.
Though there is currently no confirmation of the leaked names, rumors state that the four-piece band is already 'in-talks' about their possible appearance at the Super Bowl. This comes after the news of One Direction's extended hiatus in 2016, which everyone thinks might be the band's last show for the year.
Besides Bruno Mars and One Direction, who are among the industry's biggest artists, the big event will be bringing in a lot of talented artists to entertain the crowd.
"The NFL is throwing its net wide to have a plethora of acts over just one," a source said. "This is Super Bowl 50 we are talking about! They want the halftime show to have entertainers for every age group. It would not only be just them."
1D loyalists will surely not miss this big event of the Super Bowl, knowing that it might the last performance of their favorite band. NFL on the other hand, is eyeing for a kind of entertainment that will effortlessly capture the attention of the crowd and One Direction-Bruno Mars tandem is the perfect fit.
"NFL bosses want a superstar line-up and One Direction are very much in the mix," a source said. "They want a pop and rock mash up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too."
The source went on saying, "NFL bigwigs want a one-off that will be remembered and garner the greatest audience figures ever. Obviously the 12-minute halftime show will be worth millions in revenue, sales and downloads too. With the band finishing it would be the ultimate way for the group to say farewell to their fans."
The Super Bowl will kick off this February 7, 2016 at the Levi's Stadium situated in Santa Clara, California.
