Although 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' looks like a movie filled with several interesting new faces, there is one character that stands out as the most intriguing and mysterious: Kylo Ren. He was first seen in the 'Star Wars' trailer as a dark figure wearing a black hood and wielding a red crossguard lightsaber, and has gone on to become the most talked about character in 'The Force Awakens.'
Perhaps one of the most interesting facts about Kylo Ren is his obsession with the dead Sith Lord Darth Vader. Director J.J. Abrams had confirmed with Entertainment Weekly that the new villain had fashioned his mask to be similar to the Sith Lord's, and that the origins of the mask will be a central part of the story in 'Episode VII.'
But does this mean Darth Vader will be making an appearance in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens?' If so, then why?
[SPOILERS AFTER THE IMAGE]
There is a new theory from io9 that may explain Darth Vader's brief appearance in the second 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer, and might also shed a light on just how crazy Kylo Ren could get. According to the site, the new villain may be planning to create a clone of Darth Vader.
But how will Kylo Ren make a Darth Vader clone?
There were previous speculations that Kylo Ren is collecting any relics he could find that used to belong to Darth Vader. Kylo may have obtained the Vader mask that was seen in the trailer, and there is a possibility that he is also after Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber, which has been passed on from Leia to Finn.
So why is Kylo Ren so obsessed with Darth Vader?
J.J. Abrams has previously confirmed with Empire that Kylo Ren is not a Sith, but this doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't aspire to be one. According to io9, Kylo Ren may be trying to absorb some of the Force still left in Vader relics so he himself can become a Sith.
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is scheduled for release on December 18.
