Twenty-five years after the release of David Lynch's television series "Twin Peaks," which has since turned into a cult favorite, Showtime is currently shooting a sequel to the story, bringing back Kyle MacLachlan in the leading role and bringing a few new faces along the way for the "Twin Peaks" reboot.
Amanda Seyfried, who has focused the latter part of her career in films, will be making a television comeback (after "Veronica Mars" and "Big Love") for the "Twin Peaks" reboot, starring in an unnamed and yet "pivotal" new role, joining the likes of Lara Flynn Boyle and Piper Laurie in the sequel to the beloved 1990s show.
According to an exclusive new story by TV Line, Seyfried has just been hired to be part of the "Twin Peaks" reboot, currently being filmed around Washington state, where many of the original cast members are currently shooting new scenes.
As Vanity Fair reports, for now it's being widely speculated that Seyfriend will be taking the role of McLachlan's daughter with Heather Graham's character from the original series, though nothing is known for certain so far, with the project being kept under strict secrecy rules.
According to Metro, little is known so far about the "Twin Peaks" reboot other than the fact that Lynch will be returning to the project (though he gave fans a scare for a few weeks there after saying he was no longer attached to the sequel) along with original star MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Richard Beymer, Dana Ashbrook, and Catherine E. Coulson as well as supposedly Peggy Lipton, though she's still unconfirmed.
For now, it'd believed that the series will consist of 18 episodes, about 9 more hours than it had been previously reported.
In any case, the "Twin Peaks" reboot is getting nearer and nearer for those who want to enjoy their TV with a damn fine cup of coffee!
