Good news for foodies out there! The famous New York-based food cart, Halal Guys, that offers gyros, chicken and rice platters soaked in 'White Sauce' is expanding their horizons as they come and open their new branch in California on October 2.
The Halal Guys has been in the business for 25 years, started out in 1990 as a hotdog food cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City. According to their website, their business grew out of the demand of Muslim cab drivers looking for a food meal that's halal. And in order to supply the growing demand, the food cart birthed the famous platter of chicken and gyro over rice and to top it all the famous red and white sauce were introduced.
Foodbeast revealed that the new location of the iconic New York-based street cart has been in the works for quite some time, but now its official, their first of their 50 unit deal in California will be open for business in Costa Mesa, CA. The famous 'white sauce' has taken over Instagram and promotions via word of mouth from their patrons who frequented their Manhattan branch.
As their business expansion progresses, industry reports that Southern California isn't the only place for The Halal Guys' expansion. The company is also planning to bring their 'white sauce' with a 5 unit development deal in Houston, TX, 10 unit development deal for the entire city of Wahington, D.C., Chicago and Philadelphia. And if all goes well, the company plans to also go global as they have planted a 20 unit franchise agreement in the Philippines and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
