‘The View’ Nurses: After Joy Behar’s Miss Colorado Comment, Amid, Johnson & Johnson Drops Advertisements Supporting #NursesUnite

Only days after Joy Behar returned to "The View" after a two-year absence, the iconic talk show co-host already got into some major controversy with one of the most respected professions in the world, and "The View" nurses controversy has shown the wide support these health workers have.

Earlier this week, as the ladies in the show spoke about the "Miss America" pageant, Behar and Michelle Collins joked about the talent shown by Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, a certified nurse who went on stage to speak about treating patients with Alzheimer's, and the two co-hosts raised eyebrows after joking that was "not a talent," prompting "The View" nurses controversy.

Now, according to People Magazine, "The View" nurses controversy is costing the show some of its biggest advertisers, most notably medical devices company Johnson & Johnson and Eggland's Best, two of the biggest advertisers for the show.

"Johnson & Johnson values and appreciates nurses and we respect the critical role they play in our healthcare system," Johnson & Johnson wrote in a recent Facebook post regarding the recent "The View" nurses scandal, according to Entertainment Tonight Online. "We disagree with recent comments on daytime television about the nursing profession, and we have paused our advertising accordingly."

As Jezebel reports, "The View" nurses comments became viral after people in the medical care profession, as well as supporters of nurses, took to social media to support Miss Colorado under the hashtag #NursesUnite, with many pointing out the important work nurses have done over the course of generations when it comes to taking care of the sick.

Of course, since "The View" nurses controversy started, both Collins and Behar have apologized publicly over speaking out of place, saying in fact they "love nurses" and greatly respect their work, but this didn't stop advertisers from stepping back in the middle of the issue.
