'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Star Paul Bettany Slams Jason Statham For Marvel Comments, Says 'Transporter' Star Needs An Acting Double! [VIDEO]

The world was thoroughly impressed with the Marvel sequel 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' due to its action sequences. However, there was one action star who wasn't impressed at all.

While promoting his film 'Spy,' Jason Statham took a dig at the movie, saying that anyone can star in a Marvel film.

"They're relying on stunt doubles, and green screen, and $200 million budgets, it's all CGI created. To me, it's not authentic," Statham said about 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.'

Although this is old news by now, Conan O'Brien couldn't resist getting a reaction from Paul Bettany when the 'Legend' star was a guest in his PBS show. The talk show host read an excerpt of Jason Statham's comment to Paul Bettany, who appeared to be unaffected.

"I could take my grandma, put her in a cape, and then put her on a green-screen and they'll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it," Conan read.

"I dont know why anyone would talk smack about something, you know," Bettany responded before praising Jason Statham.

"He's brilliant, he's great at what he does and I couldn't do it and you know, it's true," he said.

Paul Bettany also addressed that stuntmen are required for certain scenes, although he also does some of the hardwork himself.

"There are times when I try to do as many of the stunts as I can, myself. There are times when it's too dangerous, too tricky and even the producer says, 'This is too dangerous and tricky for you,'" he said.

But in conclusion, Paul Bettany offered a zinger.

"Potentially, he could think about maybe investing in an acting double," he said.

The statement was immediately met with the applause as Conan O'Brien laughed.

Paul Bettany is set to appear in the Kray twins biopic 'Legend,' which also stars Tom Hardy, Emily Browning and Christopher Eccleston. The film is scheduled for release on November 20.
