The English film director and producer Ridley Scott recently revealed that his next film is Prometheus 2, and the director also threw in some of the plot.
At the Toronto International Film Festival this week, director Ridley Scott granted an extensive interview to Deadline regarding several of the director's movies, and then Scott offered an update on Prometheus 2.
As the 2012 Prometheus film ended with Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and David (Michael Fassbender) taking off in an Engineer spacecraft to visit the home planet of the Engineers trying to find answers.
However, for what it's worth, there were rumors buzzing around last year stating that in the sequel, there would be a number of David androids, all played by Michael Fassbender but there was no mention of this whatsoever.
Ridley Scott gave information to Deadline that the upcoming sequel of the 2012 science fiction film will start the production next February, and the German-Irish actor Michael Fassbender is indeed coming back. Director Scott said that's all they have ever desired.
When Ridley Scott was asked about the plot of the franchise during the interview, the director stated, "You can either say, go away from the first film alone and jump further forward, but you can't because it ends on too specific plot sentence as she says, I want to go where they came from, I don't want to go back to where I came from." "I thought the subtext of that movie was a bit florid and magnificent in appearance, but it asks a good question: who brought us into existence? I don't think we are here by accident.
On one hand, Michael Fassbender is currently shooting the film adaptation of the hugely popular video game series, Assassin's Creed, which is slated to hit theaters on December 21, 2016.
Recently, Michael Fassbender also took hold of Universal Pictures' The Snowman to shoot sometime after Assassin's Creed. Ridley Scott however made mention that Prometheus 2 will likely be the next film of Michael Fassbender.
