Tom Hiddleston is one busy actor. The 34-year-old star of 'Thor: The Dark World' will have two movies coming out in late 2015 and has also scored the lead role in the monster movie 'Kong: Skull Island.'
Collider recently spoke with Tom Hiddleston about his films 'High-Rise' and 'I Saw the Light' at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, and also managed to get the actor talking about 'Kong: Skull Island.'
Tom Hiddleston confirmed that he will be working on the King Kong prequel soon and offered some background about his own character in the film.
"Well, 'Kong: Skull Island' is the next thing on the books. It's so exciting," Hiddleston said. "I've been digging around in some dark material, to be honest. There's something very heroic about my character in Skull Island. He's an adventurer, he's an explorer. I mean, it's a King Kong film. There we go," he added with a laugh.
Tom Hiddleston also revealed a little bit about what director Jordan Vogt-Roberts plans to do with the film.
"The way Jordan Vogt-Roberts has conceived of it, there's something in there which I find very compelling about King Kong as an emblem of the power of nature in some way, and man's relationship to it," he said. "I think he's got just brilliant ideas about exploring that. Incredible sequences, a particular context they put King Kong in that you've never see him in before, so I'm really excited."
The 'High-Rise' star also confirmed that there will be more than just one 'Straight Outta Compton' star in 'Kong: Skull Island.'
"Amazing actors. I'm working with Brie Larson," Hiddleston said. "Corey Hawkins, and Jason Mitchell from 'Straight Outta Compton' are going to be in it."
'Kong: Skull Island' also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, Toby Kebbell and Tom Wilkinson. The film is scheduled for release on March 20, 2017.
