American Idol: Lazaro Arbos Bombs, Candice Parker Nails It (Video)

As "American Idol" begins to wind down to its' top five contestants, one singer isn't looking or sounding too good at the moment.

That singer would be Lazaro Arbos. Although he has millions of fans across the country, that didn't do much to help out his performance Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old crooner took on the Carpenter's famous tune "(They Long To Be) Close To You" but failed to meet up to the judges expectations.

Mariah Carey, in particular, who has been relatively nice for the entire season, decided to offer up some criticism in the direction of Arbos.

"We can't go into a new key and you stay in the old key," Carey said. "This is kind of a big deal," reports Fox News.

The other judges echoed her sentiments, except for Nicki, who didn't have time to comment due to Carey's lengthy breakdown.

"Lets just pretend I already gave my comment," she said.

Randy Jackson kept it simple by saying, "That (performance) was horrible." Adding, "No, no, no, NO! I'm speechless."

On the other side of the singing spectrum though, Candice Parker left the judges speechless for good reasons.

She first performed "Don't Make Me Over" by Burt Bacharach, which amazed everyone including the judges.

Her second performance was the highlight of the night and possibly the entire history of "Idol".

Parker took on The Cure's "Lovesong", which Adele recently covered for one of her performances.

If Parker hasn't shown that she has the singing chops already, this song put her over the edge. The crowd stood up in cheers when Parker capped off the song with her signature high note, but no one sat down for a couple minutes after she finished.

Carey, who rarely gets out of her chair, even walked up to Parker and tossed gold glitter on her. Parker immediately broke down in tears from the overwhelming reaction.

Keith Urban also got out of his chair and began bowing down to the young starlet.

Jackson said the performance was "One of the greatest performance's in the 12 years of "American Idol" history," later saying he thought it was one of the best ever in talent show television history.

The elimination show is tonight and Kelly Clarkson will be performing.
