Although Tim Tebow's one season as a Jet wasn't really much of a season at all, attempting just eight passes and completing six of them, the Jets still have the former Florida quarterback on their roster.
Officially, he is still under contract with Gang Green for two more years, but trade rumors have been flying high since the end of last season.
It seems as though the Jets never came to a decision, as Tebow the enigma is now reportedly ready to suit up and attend the Jets' voluntary workout mini-camps next Monday, according to The New York Daily News.
Tebow did express some sentiment towards his diminished role last season, wishing he were able to do more, but hadn't said much in recent weeks.
The Jets have also signed veteran David Garrard to the roster to compete for the backup and starting role. As of now, Mark Sanchez remains to be the starter, but youngster Greg McElroy, who started a few games last year, is still around as well.
Therefore, with all of the quarterback competition, it doesn't seem likely that Tebow will given much of a chance to compete for the starting position, again.
The Jets have also yet to define what role Tebow will play, if he does, in the new Marty Mornhinweg offense. Tebow only carried the ball 32 times last year in the Jets' version of the Wild Cat offense.
According to SB Nation, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reported the Jets are most likely going to cut Tebow after the 2013 NFL Draft. The Jets acquired Tebow from the Denver Broncos in the 2012 offseason for an exchange of draft picks.
