Brooke Shields now limits and carefully checks the amount of alcohol that she consumes because she is concerned with the fact that both her father and mother had tendencies of being alcoholics due to over consumption of alcohol.
The 50 year old actress revealed that she is strictly limitin the alcohol that she takes in because both of her parents were both heavy drinkers. Her late father Francis Shields a Revlon executive and Teri Shields her mother also died last 2012.
In an interview on BUNTE a German magazine she said ''I really have to take care that I limit my intake of alcohol. I know I have the tendency to drink too much.''
Brooke was just five months old when her parents divorced her mother Terrie 79 year old died three years ago after suffering dementia.
The superstar is still upset when she recalls her mother deteriorating from dementia and she admits that it's the worst thing happened to her life when she witnessed her mother suffering from illness.
Brooke said ''I get a knot straight away in my stomach, it was just so horrible. I have to force myself to not think about it all the time, because it doesn't help.''
