Nickelodeon's Kel Mitchell Still Loves Orange Soda, Has A New Show On Nick

On September 12, Kenan Mitchell from Nickelodeon's 90's comedy series Kenan and Kel will be back on Nick for his new show, "Game Shakers".

The "All That" alum sat down with Huff Post Live and recalled his early Nickelodeon days.

"It was awesome," he recalled. "I came from the south side of Chicago and booked the show. We started filming in Florida at first and shot right on in the Universal Studios, so that was kinda like our backyard."

"In between classes at school we would go over there and ride all rides - ride "Back To The Future" rides," he added. "Also to meet beautiful musical guests like Aaliyah, TLC," he said, "it was crazy!"

Mitchell also recalled how it was like to be huge star in the 90's. "We were like Bieber back then," he said. "We couldn't go anywhere it was bananas."

After 20 years since "Kenan and Kel" aired, nothing has ever changed when it comes to his favourite soda. When asked by a fan if he still loves orange soda, Kel laughed and said "I do, I do, I do-oooh!"

"Even now, me and my wife, we can't go up to the drive thru 'cause people are like going crazy if I order something else," he shared. "They're like 'Why don't you get orange soda? Kel loves orange soda!'"

Talking about the bromance comedy, Mitchell shared it was easy that they were friends. "It was fun! I mean me and Kenan were actually really friends, you know, around that time so it was really easy for us to do that show," he recalled. "There's a lot of adlibs, lots of Improv."

When asked if he's still friends with the Saturday Night Live star, Mitchell said they still are. "I just talked to him," he added. "We're talking about being fathers now... and the new show."

Nickelodeon is not only bringing back Kel Mitchell. According to USA Today, the cartoon channel is planning to revive Rugrats and Hey Arnold! too.
