As the Vampire Diaries season 7 comes near, fans of the popular TV series have been asking what will the new chapter look like, now that Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert is no longer part of the storyline.
Following Nina Dobrev's exit from the show, TVD fans doubted that the show might not be able to sustain itself without its main character.
However, as the new teaser trailer of the upcoming season finally comes into view, fans might have to change their minds because the show is probably pulling it off even without Dobrev.
The Vampire Diaries season 7 will be a lot different from the previous chapters. New characters will be added and Mystic Falls without Elena Gilbert is really something that everyone has been waiting to see in the upcoming season.
Earlier reports hinted that the old characters who see Mystic Falls as their home might not be the same anymore, particularly the character of Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore, who happens to be Elena's boyfriend in the series.
In the new teaser trailer, Mystic Falls looks more like a war zone than a peaceful home that everyone wishes to have ever since the vampires came into the picture-perfect town of Mystic Falls.
The new chapter will be focusing more on the Salvator brothers, Damon and Stefan Salvatore, instead of putting a highlight on the characters' different love stories just like the way that the previous chapters were created, which was actually focused on Elena, Damon and Stefan's love triangle.
Besides the Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan's mother joins the chaos as she brings her 'better' family in the Mystic Falls, the vampire-witch-hybrids known as the Heretics, who now rules the whole town.
"We making a huge mistake handing over our town to a bunch of supernatural terrorists?" said Caroline. Stefan replied, "Yeah, probably."
Watch the trailer below, The Vampire Diaries Season 7 will air this October 8, Friday EST 8pm at The CW.
