The U.K.'s beloved Queen Elizabeth has stepped into a special place in the history as she is currently the country's longest reigning monarch. Amidst her recognition coming from the politicians and the people, the Queen said that her new milestone was not something she had aspired to be.
Being able to surpass 63 years, 7 months, 2 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes of her great grandmother, Queen Victoria's service on the throne, the big juncture for Queen Elizabeth has been marked with flag-waving crowds in the streets, cheering, applause, ringing bells in Westminster Abbey and warmth messages in the parliament.
"Many.. have also kindly noted another significance attaching to today, although it is not one to which I have ever aspired." Queen Elizabeth said in her short speech while thanking the big crowd for welcoming her.
She went on saying, "Inevitably a long life can pass by many milestones, my own is no exception, but I thank you all and the many others at home and overseas for your touching messages and great kindness."
The reigning Queen, who became a monarch at the age of 25, has received massive praises from other nations, particularly from several political leaders and organizations in London.
Queen Elizabeth began to carry a huge responsibility at a young age, back when Britain was coming into view from the devastating aftermath of the Second World War, where she has witnessed a big political change, social chaos and the downfall of the British empire at the time.
Prime Minister David Cameron said in his parliament message, "The Queen is our Queen and we could not be more proud of her,"
"Over the last 63 years, Her Majesty has been a rock of stability in a world of constant change and her selfless sense of service and duty has earned admiration, not only in Britain, but right across the globe," Cameron added.
