The Beatles' Ringo Starr On His Take About One Direction's Upcoming Hiatus

After finally confirming the news about their upcoming hiatus, One Direction gained massive support from their families, friends, fellow celebrities and fans. However, one musician seems to disagree with the band's decision and thinks it might be a mistake for the group to go on a break.

Former 'The Beatles' member and actor, Ringo Starr has recently shared his own judgment to One Direction's upcoming hiatus following their five years in the music industry. He noted that he doesn't get the point as to why the four-piece band would still want to leave the peak of their fame.

During the launching of his latest book 'Photograph' held in the National Portrait Gallery, Starr said that he had always loved being with The Beatles to the point that the group never really needed a break from the spotlight.

"We did not understand taking a hiatus or holidays. We just kept on going, because we loved it. We loved to play and we loved to play live." He said.

When asked about how The Beatles managed their stressful schedule, Ringo Starr went on to explain that the group would rather go for retreat inside the studio than taking a break.

The news about One Direction's decision on taking some time off came just weeks after the band manager and X-Factor mentor Simon Cowell revealed that he was surprised the band lasted for five years before they finally decided to go on a break.

"This has been going on for quite a long time actually, they always said in 2016 they wanted to take some time off and I said 100% do it," Cowell said. "This is 5 years, literally non stop, I'm amazed they've done it for so long. When you're in a group for that long, it's so intense, you need it."

Meanwhile, after Cowell confirmed the band's plan, new rumors suggest that Harry Styles might also be exiting from the band to pursue his career in acting. Though the rumor is not yet confirmed, Cowell admits that during their break, Louis Tomlinson will be focusing on making his own record label in the future.

"I know Louis wants to be an A&R guy, he was always going to be good at that. I haven't gone into too much detail with the others." Cowell added.
